If you want to visit one of Zims best kept secrets, this mountain river is it. The road down is for robust vehicles, but once there, have a picnic in a truly beautiful remote place and unwind. You will be grateful that you did.

Relaxing afternoon down at the Gairezi
We used to frequent this area as kids when travelling to Nyanga. Was really good to go back and see that it is still very familiar and well kept. The road down was fine as it hadn't rained much, it can get quite bad when it does - recommend using a 4x4 regardless. * Payment required for vehicle and entry fees as well as fishing (US$25 for a fishing licence) - one can only fish from just above the main bridge down (fly fishing for trout) - some decent pools, but the river was in full flow so no success unfortunately. The better fishing is upstream but limited to members only * Main picnic spot had a few people, so is worth getting there early (just below the members cottages) - very good for swimming, tubing and jumping off rocks * Only spent the afternoon, but could have gone for much longer - heaps to explore and will definitely visit again

Sooth Calming Experience
Looking for a place to absorb yourself with nature, far from the urban noise and all the daily hustle, bustle and anxiety. Gairezi river is the coolest god-mother nature environment that soothes and calms your inner soul.With amazing pools and fishing activity this is probably the best weekend escape plan you can come up with.
