Good experience with family or friends. Rowing charges are 400 rupees for 1/2 hour + 200 rupees rower charges. For self-rowing , they charge 1000 rupees as deposit and cost of rowing extra. They also have paddle boat option available. Good time to visit in the evening but before sunset as it's closed and due to COVID situation, not advisable. One key point is the lake does not have motor boat facility as the water is used for resident in Mahabaleshwar. Ideal time is to visit post monsoon when water level is high and almost at the steps of Hanuman Mandir which is on the other side of lake.

Unsanitized life jackets on a beautiful sunset ride!
They charge you Rs.600/- for 6 people in a paddle boat or Rs.400/- for 4 people in a row boat. The ride in the lake especially during sunset is quite pleasant. However there is no investment made in cleaning the life jackets that you are made to wear before starting your trip. They are so dirty & it is left to your imagination when they were last sanitized. With Covid just behind our backs & exorbitant charges for the ride, I don't think it should be challenging for them to invest some amount in washing these life jackets at regular intervals.
