Zambia National Museum, Lusaka Province, Zambia

Interesting Artefacts

I really enjoyed admiring all the objects and artefacts that are displayed there. A lot has been displayed on the history of Zambia from the colonial days right through to independence and going forth. There is also a real life typical village setting that is built therein. I particularly enjoyed the works of art. I understand that this is a new museum and there is still much that needs to be done to enhance its appearance, but overall it is an interesting place to visit in order to have a feel of Zambia the real Africa.

    Interesting Museum
We spent a couple of hours here looking at the exhibits in the museum. There was also an art and photography exhibition on the ground floor. It was interesting to find out about the history of Zambia, the country's journey to independence and the archaeological finds of early man that were unearthed nearby. The art and photography exhibition showcased some wonderful talent with some beautiful paintings, drawings and photos.

Best when seen with a local guide
Without a guide, we wouldn't have learned so much. The displays have a lot of writing and are interesting but the museum at Livingstone was much better in my opinion. It's a way to spend an hour and get insight into the Chinese connections as well as the political struggles.
