Great for hop on, hop off
We were drawn initially to learn about streetcars, and glad to see the informative displays on the first floor, and delighted to find the whole second floor dedicated to helping kids learn and interact with various activities. I didn’t realize how extensive Lowell was, and I deeply appreciated the ride in an authentic trolley car to give us a sense of history and to help us get around. The staff were beyond delightful and informative. Can’t wait to come back and explore more!

If you love transportation history, this is a must see.
Street cars, trolleys, urban and interurban transportation is front and center here. Ride an actual street trolley too. The exhibits and displays go into great depth on how the short rail lines impacted the development of real estate, housing, commerce, immigration, [and racism], and so much more. Extremely well done.

Lovely but a challenge for anyone driving there.
Beautiful and good for anyone of any age, but inconveniently located. That's just Lowell, but even for Lowell it's hard to get parking near there. Worth it. Not in the slightest disability accessible but what do you expect for a streetcar from 50+ years in the past. Too bad!
