    Amazing Cemetery
I am from the west coast and let me tell you we haven't got anything like this by way of cemeteries. the headstones here are incredible. the money spent during the the times of the textile boom in Lowell on these things make them a sight to behold. I have actually been here a few times when back visiting my husband's family and I just love it every time. If you are in the area definitely worth checking out.

    Learn lots about Lowell's History
The Lowell Cemetery is a Victorian garden cemetery so it is a great place for a walk. Rick Howe leads a tour of the many memorial monuments and there are many fascinating lives of people buried there. There are two free tours offered in the Spring and Fall by Richard Howe who is the Register of Deeds of the area that contains Lowell. He is an interesting tour guide and Lowell historian. There is plenty of parking on the cemetery paved paths. The tour lasts about 1.5 hours and is an easy walk with lots to see. And what you learn will send you to the net and/or the library to learn more. On the most recent tour there were about 100 people, but there was plenty of room for more. The cemetery is very beautifully landscaped and is a very calming place.
