The Museum Was An Actual Home

This lovely structure is a once-used personal home. It is roomy and has been well preserved. There are bedrooms, a living area, and a kitchen to observe and consider what life was like back in the day. Climb the narrow steps to the attic which houses artifacts and implements from the period. This museum was well worth the time.

    Surprisingly interesting
Quite unassuming from the outside, this museum of how people lived and life in Chonchi over the last couple of centuries was surprisingly interesting. If you're really into this subject, it's a gem - and even if you're not, it's fascinating.

    Interesting
A very interesting little museum in a traditional old house. There are a lot of artefacts and pictures relevant to the area and you can get a feel of what it might have been like to live in Chonchi a lifetime ago.....which I guess is the purpose. Upstairs is an eclectic mix of 'stuff' ......tools, machines and so on from a previous generation. This is well worth a visit if you have time in Chonchi...it's a shame other towns didn't make the are effort!
