4.5 (90 reviews) Thursday: 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Ranking #4 in Isla Chiloe Speciality Museums • Art Museums • History Museums

Do the "Ruta de las Iglesias de Chiloe". It is a great way to go and visit the most enchanting corners of Chiloe.

The "Ruta de las Iglesias Patrimoniales de Chiloe" starts here. It is a small museum, but it is very informative and fun. It is a well spent hour visiting this museum, especially if you do the "Ruta de las Iglesias", and if you do not do the Ruta, the visit to this museum is a must.

THE BEST ATTRACTION SPEAKS OF OTHER PLACES
Chiloe was put on the world travel map with the World Heritage Site designation of 16 wooden churches on the island. This is a nice little museum but it speaks of places well south of Ancud. It certainly is a worthwhile stop if heading on the Route of the Churches. Each church is described. There are a few relics from some of the churches, like a window from the church at Chonchi.

Must see for those wanting to tour some of Chiloe's wooden churches
This museum, which is in a former wooden church, explains the 16 unique UNESCO wooden churches along Chiloe's 'Ruta de la Iglesia'. There are models of each church and an explanation (in Spanish) of their construction . The wooden churches - there are many more than the designated 16 - are in the eastern bay and archipelago and are part of a system of Jesuit missions.
