Historic fortress with fine views.

We stopped here on our trip from Rijeka to Senj. This 1558 Nehaj Fortress sits boldly and starkly alone with a commanding view over the Adriatic to Krk Island. Although it was closed, today’s fine weather also gave nice views of the mountains to the back and historic Senj below.

    Impressive fort!
    Didn't eat there, but the fort itself is impressive with a great view and interesting architecture. It's easy to imagine uskoks of old while walking on walls during the foggy evenings and waiting for Venetian ships to come. Anyway, educational panels are often only written in Croatian, so I don't really understand how should tourists understand them.
