Beautiful historical site set inside a sprawling park
This was our favourite of the places that we visited in Shenyang. An extensive complex of beautiful historial buildings. We spent a couple of hours wandering around here, and could have stayed longer - it is so peaceful. We found the buildings here even more impressive than the Imperial Palace. The park it is in, Bei Ling park is well worth exploring too, you could easily spend a full day between the park and the mausoleum. The entry to the park itself was 5RMB or entry to the park and mausoleum was 50RMB when we visited.

Peaceful visit
I really enjoyed visiting this tomb! It was an easy walk of about 1.5km from the main entrance of Beiling Park. They had an electric cart, and even though I think I bought a ticket for it (the ticket prices were all in Chinese), I just walked. The walk through the park is really nice, but the tomb was even more impressive. There was a bit of restoration going on, but for the most part it was quite lovely and well-preserved. The walk around the Square City and the upper wall was really nice. It was really so quiet and peaceful in the very back part of the upper wall where the path curves behind the burial mound.

Nice Emperor Tomb
Came here in the spring, it was very quite in the late afternoon, so no crowds to deal with. There was some construction that took away from the experience, but still was nice to see the historic sites. Peaceful and pleasant, worth checking out while in Shenyang.
