Fantastic day out

This was quite an experience and not what I was expecting. As this was late October the garden was closing down as the season was finishing and they were planting the bulbs for next year. However, we decided to continue the visit as we wanted to see the famous 125 metre high Lily Tower. It is quite a large garden – actually a park - full of surprises. As the board near the entrance states “The park is a collection of gardens and architectural products of five continents and key cities in the world.” All of which are worth exploring. We spent most of the day there and still wanted to see more. We shall return when the flowers are in bloom, because it will an absolute joy. Definitely recommended if you are in the area and have a spare day.

    Favorite place in Shenyang
Plan to spend a whole day here and fully enjoy every minute of the day. There are numerous beautiful gardens, a high outlook viewing tower, numerous small playgrounds and full body swings, theme park rides for all ages and thrill levels, and our favorite part: the wipeout zone where people can test their athletic skills and attempt crossing a small body of water on a variety of obstacles. Pack sunscreen, drinks, snacks, meals, toilet tissue and hand wipes- there are lots of food vendor spots but its all potato chips and bottled drinks at 5x regular retail costs. The bathrooms are typical chinese bathrooms, so come prepared with personal hygiene products. wear good walking shoes and if u think you might want to try the water activities, bring a change of clothes. its a far drive from the city but totally worth it.

All year round -you can enjoy this park
It was built for The world Garden Expo 2006?? (I think) with many countries building native gardens. Since then it has become a sort of theme park, entertainment center for the local people. The locals call it QiPanSheng In Spring, Summer and Autumn with flowers and water sports - in Winter they have their own mini Winter Festival with ice sculptures and ice buildings - similar to Harbin - but on a smaller scale. Just West of this site are huge works in progress on a new Theme park - a full size Disney Castle has already been built and a very large Water Slide park and I am told much more. So in 2017 it really will be an area not to miss. Sorry no photos - I forgot my camera - great tourist me!! The 168 bus goes here and further - leaves from opposite the N Train Station - goes past Helong Tomb and Dongling Park before it gets to the Gardens - about 25km (4Y)
