Incredible to behold - but book a Tour!
Arguably one of the finest Cathedrals in the entire world, St. Peter's is the spiritual center of the Vatican and the product of many of Italy's great Renaissance's architects, among them Bramante, Raphael and Michelangelo.

It's a Must See Experience
We booked an early morning tour guide, they say you jump the ques doing this but You won't. You still have to que to get in through Secutity. ( No Water or Fluids in Any bottles or containers), but take an empty water bottle because drinking water is free after the security check at various water fountains which are safe. So book a morning tour guide and get there early, we were there at 9am and it only took 10 minutes to get in. (At lunchtime there was may be a 500m que). With the tour guide we were given an ear piece so we could listen to them talking privately and it worked really well. Our Tour guide price to St Peters also included a trip to the roof top, we took the lift to the 1st part (good thing to do) then walked the rest. *Warning it's Steep and also as your climbing a dome you lean to one side. Also the last steps are tight spirall. But when your there there are Fantastic views, my advice is take your time, don't panic and enjoy. We also visited the crypt in the Basilica and visited past Pope's tombs. Pope John Paul 2nd is here with many more very famous people. A very special place to visit what ever your beliefs or politics, Unbelievable architecture that needs to be seen. YOU Will feel small trust me. A must see.

Skip the line!
Definitely worth a visit! Pictures do not do justice how massive and opulent it is. Would recommend skip the line (we had skip the line for the museums and here) as queues can be extremely long. We did abandon the additional queue for further entry to the dome as the queue was taking a very long time.
