A must see, when in Rome!

Located in the heart of Rome, this vibrant and elegant square is surrounded by 18th-century buildings augmented by the colorful flowers that adorn the Spanish Steps. The elegant steps by Francesco de Sanctis (1723-1726) consist of twelve flights of varying width, which descend to the scenic Franciscan Church of Trinita dei Monti.

    A View From the Top
Obviously one of the most famous sightseeing locations in Rome. The steps are steeped in history and the views over the city from the top are worth the visit. Nothing to exciting but a worthwhile visit. A very place to visit and to be avoided during peak times during the day, we found it more appealing and picturesque at night.

    A city scape view
We navigated ourselves through the strets of Rome and ended up at the top of these steps. and am so glad we did as the atmposphere at the top was so peaceful and gave you time to take in the views of the city without having to catch your breath 1st. The steps are on 2 levels and as you would expect uneven and are probably slippy in the wet weather but as it was a warm spring day when we visited so didn't encounter any problems. As you can imagine they are filled with tourists snapping selfies wit the iconic view in the background. The base of the stairs is a square where you will find your high end brands of shops like Chanel so if you keep your eyes peeled you may sneek a peek at a celebrity. There is also man array of eateries in the square. I can't comment on the prices but common sense would tell me that they would be a few Euros added on the bill for the view. We visited in the day but am sure they woul look more impressive at night all lit up. Go and have a look for yourself and get another tick on your Rome been there done that list you will not be disappointed.
