We walked through this area more than once during our stay in Rome. It is a vibrant place during the busy part of the day but we also went on a Sunday morning before the crowds started to build and that allowed us to really enjoy the three beautiful fountains- to hear the sound and appreciate the sculptures without so many people around them. There are many great cafes around the perimeter. Great place to sit and enjoy some food and drink before exploring more.

Lovely, especially when lit up at night!
We passed through Piazza Navona a number of times in search of somewhere to eat for our evening meal. When this place is all lit up at night, it is absolutely beautiful! I'm not sure what it is, but it seems to have a really lovely ambiance to it! The piazza is overall very clean and well-kept, with plenty of restaurants for you to eat at. I have given this place 4* for two, solitary reasons. First of all, it can get a little busy at peak times (although not overcrowded), which you may want to bear in mind. Secondly, some of the restaurants are not as good as others and if I remember correctly, restaurant staff sometimes start approaching random people, which can be off-putting and extremely annoying. However, this applies only to a minority of restaurants I would estimate. I would also like to comment that if in search for somewhere for an evening meal, this place should have plenty of choice for you food wise, and there are indeed some very nice restaurants! Overall, I would definitely recommend a visit to Piazza Navona if in Rome. I wouldn't recommend spending hours upon hours here, but it's definitely somewhere I would recommend passing through at the very least.
