Kayaking in the wind
If you do Rome make sure you visit Lake Albanian, loads to do with kids and different beaches around the lake. We spent two hours in the kayak. Hard going as it was windy, then some wind surfing. We then drove round the lake stopping at different points. Lots to do to kill a day or two. Loads of places to eat and we found a side road lay-by selling hot pig rolls. They we not to be missed.

Stunning ~ Easy Access ~ Good Food
Got the train from Rome to Castel Gamdolfo (40 mins) and arrived right beside Lake Albano. The lake is absolutely beautiful. There are plenty of places to eat on the waterfront and up the hill where you’ll find the village. Definitely go if you can spend half a day out of Rome.

In the Caldera of a Volcano lies a blue beauty
This lake is very mysterious. In its deepest parts it's 170 m deep. The lake has a hidden tunnel wich controls the water level. The oracle of Delphi told to do so. You feel the mystery of that place at every part of the lake. I would never ever try to swim in the lake even if I really LOVE swimming. It could be dangerous because of the gas. And there might be currents underwater.
