I'm not an art lover but Galleria Borghese was one of the highlights of my trip. Often under the shadow by the Vatican Museum, which I remember was loud and busy, I found Borghese was more enjoyable. I liked the calmness and being able to learn about the history and all the art pieces in a spacious and quiet setting. In my opinion, spending 2 quality hours at Galleria Borghese is better than spending a whole day at the overcrowded Vatican Museum (but you should still visit). I highly recommend getting a tour guide for 8 more Euros if you can, as the expertise just adds a lot more value at what you see. Enjoy your visit.

Amazing art
This was a 40 minute walk from our hotel in an absolute downpour but, boy, was it worth it! The art is fantastic and to see six Caravaggios was out of this world. Having said that, the organisational side could do with some improvement. We arrived a half hour before our timed ticket but were unable to enter the gallery any earlier as the scanner would not accept the barcode. However, the attendants told me that if I had printed the tickets, they could simply have let us in. There should be some sort of override as this is the 21st century and electronic tickets are the norm in most places. Also, as mentioned, there was a deluge on the way. When you arrive, you have to put umbrellas and bags (any bag larger than a useable clutch) into a cloakroom but they wont accept coats! So we and everyone else in there had to carry wet winter coats round the whole gallery and this got pretty tedious after more than two hours. Also, there is not enough seating once in the gallery. As stated, the art is amazing and you have to go, but lets make it a bit more pleasurable for the visitors.
