A place to remember
This recognizable fell is located in the village of Kilpisjarvi. You can climb to the top of the fell (1029m) along a trail which starts at the Kilpisjarvi tourist centre. Scrambling up to the top of Saana is a challenge worth doing. The longest set of stairs in Finland helps you at the steepest part of the four kilometer journey. From the top of the Saana you can see for miles!

Everyone visiting Kilpisjärvi should climb to Saana
Number one thing to do in Kilpisjärvi. I can recommend both summer and winter climbs. Just remember to face the weather (seasonal, but it will be/feel colder up there) and wind (throughout the year). Hike itself is not too long or difficult if you are in a "decent" shape. However, with small children or elderly people one should re-concider or at least prepare to spend more time for the climb.

Great trail and great views
This hike suits all types of hikers as the terrain is not challenging and the trail can be super easily followed all the way up to the top. The signs within short distances guide the way and the trail is in a great condition. I did this hike on a cloudy august day. It took an hour to get to the top without long breaks and with moderate speed. The views were stunning regardless of some foggy weather!
