A Must See if you are Visiting on Christmas Eve
On Christmas Eve, the Finnish have a tradition of visiting the cemetery (located behind the church) to light a candle for the deceased. Such a beautiful and peaceful experience.

STYLSH
While in my opinion the church looks not really special from the outside, I did really like the interior. The style of the frescos differs from what I've seen anywhere else so far. Also I like the possibility to watch the services online.

A Moving Experience
Visited the Lutheran Church. Wonderful fresco behind the altar. Guide said the story is the Fountain of Life with all the seasons represented. Every part of the fresco represented a part of the story. A monument to the 609 local men who lost their lives in WWII is located behind the church. The German’s and the Finish people were fighting the Russians. At the end of the war most all of the buildings in town were burned to the ground.
