When I was born and grow up, have so many question about the Electricity. Maemoh Mine Museum have all the answer about that. Outside the museum have a good environment. From there can see big mine area (Lignite). Green space that can play sliders with big paper or plastic sheet. Life museum show expired machine. Recommended time to come here when season change it’s mean temperature getting down.

Interesting place to visit
A collection of historical mining equipment amongst beautiful gardens and a golf course surrounding everything. There are many food stalls at the front for lunch and a walk through the gardens was wonderful. The collection of old mining equipment takes you to an era long gone. Looking over the golf course you see the current lignite mine supplying the adjacent power plant. An interesting mix of beauty and industry. The state owned power station and mine supplied the gardens and golf course for the people of Thailand. Well worth a visit

Mae Moh Mine and Museum
Mae Moh Mine is a huge coal (lignite) mine in northern Thailand. It is about 30 minutes drive south of the town on Highway 11, Take the highway south and look for the signs. The highway is excellent. Watch out for the heavy trucks as they are a law until themselves. they only follow the laws of physics and just barely, There is a golf course and a flower garden in the area but we did not see these. The golf course clubhouse looks great and has a restaurant. there are old mining machines in a park like setting. There is a low cost Thai style restaurant area whiich has good food. There is an interpretation center about mining that is thoraough and modern and FREE. The view of the mine is good and gives a good adea about open pit mining. There is a vocano site in the area too!
