Museo de Sitio de Tucume, Lambayeque Region, Peru

Brilliant museum and beautiful, peaceful site

Túcume is my personal favorite site because it's so peaceful and the only noise is the sound of all the birds who are thriving here. The museum is beautiful (completed in 2014) and the signage is excellent in both English and Spanish.

The most interesting museum in the region
This museum which details the Sican people was surprisingly our favourite in the region. It certainly helped that the entire museum also has english signage which really helped us have a better understanding and appreciation for the site.

    Worth a look
This smallish "site" museum doesn't come up to the standards of Huaca Rajada or Trujillo's "Huaca del Sol y la Luna" onsite museums. However, it does have a nice model of the huacas around Cerro La Raya, which is helpful to get a mental model of this very large complex. You needn't schedule more than about 30 minutes. Photography is not allowed in the galleries and displays.
