Nice Boardwalks along Waterway
Walked the various boardwalks at Snook Islands on an overcast gray day and high winds, didn’t see much but will return on a nicer day. Impressive boardwalks here with great views of the intracoastal waterway and the bustling boat traffic to and from. Detractors are the shady individuals hanging out in this area. I would not recommend visiting after sunset. Restrooms available in the parking lot were fairly well maintained.

Now I know what a snook is! Do you?
Although we have been to Lake a Worth many times , we have never walked through this natural area. The city has done a fine job building this Boardwalk /pier out through the mangroves into the intercostal. Fishing is allowed from the pier. And snook are some of the local catch. It is a short but enjoyable respite. Next to it is a larger park with a boat ramp and picnic area along with clean rest rooms. Do stop by. Don't be too alarmed by the fact that some homeless seem to make it their day resting spot.
