A big colonial house where the prominent politician and founder of APRA party , was born,. Victor Raul Haya de la Torre , was a member of North Group (Grupo Norte) a group of intelectuals, writers, philosophers, painters, eonomists and politicians that were very important in the beginning of 20th century. All the museum is well organuzed with antique photographies , articles of newspapers and infographics. If you want to know and understand how was Peru in the past century and how Haya de la Torre became in the famous character that he is, you must visit this amazing site. It's very near to the main square (Plaza de Armas) just two blocks!

Good history lessons
Birthplace of Victor Haya de la Torre, the most influential Peruvian of the 20th century. There are four rooms that tell the story of his life in career with dozens of black and white photos. Explanations are in both Spanish and English. There are also two rooms used for special exhibits on other topics.

Interesting birthplace of Victor Raul Haya de la Torre
Haya De la Torre, the founder of the seminal Aprista Party which played an important role in 20th century Peruvian politics was born here. The museum has many of his papers and tells something of the history of the party. Probably of more interest to researchers but the house itself is interesting and worth a visit
