Even for a "Local" , I have learnt a lot!!

This is a very interesting place to gain some knowledge about the people living in this isolated area of Namibia. Worthwhile to visit!!!

An overview of Damara culture
A quick (and perhaps commercialized) overview of the Damara culture. You can see a prototype of a Damara house and get a feel for Damara lifestyle at a reasonable entry charge. Conveniently located at the turn-off to Twyfelfontein (rock paintings, burnt mountain and organ pipes). Please note that Damara are different from Himba people, who also have their own presentation.

Interesting and funny
It was an interesting stop while traveling in the area, we visited the Damara Living museum and participated on the Bush walk. There was some interesting stories about the click sounds of their languages and some local medicine and the way the used to hunt. Due to time constraint we did not visit more.
