Classic/Iconic...
...old stone lighthouse that stands tall and high close to the Kenosha Water-Tower, another city symbol. I wish it would have been open so I could've checked-out the museum inside, but it really doesn't matter does it? This lighthouse (as well as all other lighthouses) is just a temporary diversion in my life that probably will disappear like numerous other diversions have. I also think they are just something for me to use as checkpoints for whatever physical direction I'm going. Another dichotomy to lighthouses. Dan - another duality to consider!

One of the few lighthouses in Wisconsin housing museums in them.
Among the number of preserved lighthouses in Wisconsin, only few have museums, and this one is the southernmost (That's why Kenosha used to be called Southport). Museum is very good. The hours are some of the best - while it's not open year around, it's open for 6 months or so - all of the days of the weekend plus Thursday. It also helps that it's right next to Kenosha History Center, which is another museum.

Wonderful Museum and Lighthouse
We did not climb the tower, but enjoyed seeing it. The Museum was open - we really enjoyed the museum! Very comprehensive with lots of information and photos. Beautifully restored keeper’s quarters! We truly enjoyed our visit and kudos to the staff and volunteers for a wonderful experience and museum.
