A must-visit when in Alor Setar, the only blue canal in Malaysia

The water is amazingly clear and blue! Very windy on the day I came. Great for biking along the river side by side with paddy fields.

    Blue or Green?
    It was still and serene when we were there. It was more green to me. Looks like nobody has been in that for ages, but I might be wrong. It is a lovely walk around. We bumped into someone fishing alone. Next to the lagoon is another lagoon but wild flowers were growing in abundance. Also in a nearby paddy field, there was a beautiful bed of water lilies.

    Better in Late Afternoon
    I came from a region where river waters are either clear or its murky or its muddy brown. Hence, the news of a blue river almost always attracts me. With that being said, i certainly had paid a visit to this one in Kedah. The river is a quaint little spot nestled in between the many green paddy fields, composing quite a picturesque sight. Sadly, i went in the middle of the day where the brutal sun glare and hot temperature distracts me from appreciating the view. I believe anytime after 5 or 6pm would be best to visit.
