Excellent place to watch the sunset

The waterfront at Lac Kipopo is a lovely calm place to sit and enjoy nature. There are a variety of restaurants in the La Plage complex next to the lake and also peddle boats priced at US$5 per boat for approx. 15 minutes on the water. It's an excellent place for birdwatching and enjoying the sunset. Only downside is that there is litter and pollution around the edges of the lake, but that's unfortunately par for the course in Lubumbashi.

    Tchombe lake
    The Tchombe lake also known as Kipopo lake is an artificial lake surrounded by mansions and luxury businesses such as the Lubumbashi Golf, La Plage, the Karavia (or Pullman) Hotel, the restaurant Mikonos and the nganda (open Congolese bar where goat meat is served) Côte Ouest. It is a beautiful and pleasant lake. However, in recent years, unscrupulous people have been throwing their plastic garbage in it... And we can now see thousands and thousands of single-use plastic bottles floating on its surface. It is a real pity! We hope the competent authorities will wake up, clean the lake and the town, and forbid single-use plastic bottles, before it's too late. I pray for that. May they hear my prayer!
