    - GREAT DRIVE AND FANTASTIC VIEW
    Mountains
    Kundadri image
After darshana of Sri Sharadamba at Sringeri, we decided to go to Kundadri hills. It's about 28km from Sringeri. Last 8 km it's tough driving as climbing steep hills and sharp U turns. Somehow I managed to drive up with four people in the small car. You walk up about 75 steps after parking the car. There is a Jain Basadi (Temple) and a priest will be happy to explain about the history of the place. There is a pond with water on the rocks. The view is beautiful. See more..

  8. 4.5 Tadiandamol Peak (130 reviews)
    - Wonderful half day trek
    Mountains
    Tadiandamol Peak image
The trek is gentle to start with but quickly gets steep. The views are beautiful - 360 degrees and above the clouds. The last km or so, is quite steep. My son and I got bitten by leeches, so please go prepared (carry salt, apply dettol/savlon on the legs). I also liked the fact that they take an inventory of any plastic that you carry and take a Rs 100 deposit and it is returned only when you come back with all of those plastic items. The trail was really free of any litter unlike other treks we have been on. The road to the base is not great, we parked about a km before the actual start point and walked up. See more..
  9. 4.5 Kudremukh Peak (90 reviews)
    - Very good trek experience
    Mountains
    Kudremukh Peak image
You can see series of hills while trekking. It was 18kms (9+9). Beware of leeches. For leeches, put dettol on your shoes to the knee. I was hardly attacked by leeches because of this small trick . I went with backpackers United. Initial 5-6 kms are fine, not much sloppy. The last 2-3kms are bit pain. It's bit steep (never been to North indian treks). Last 200mts felt like kms for me XD. Views are breath taking. Worth the effort XD. Suggest you to travel with any backpacker agency as you need to get the forest passes in the early morning which will be difficult. See more..
  10. 4.5 Kumara Parvatha (79 reviews)
    - Amazing, Challenging, testing and Satisfying Trek
Spent More than 3 hours Mountains
    Kumara Parvatha image
We, myself, my wife, two sons (>20 years) did this trek on 14th Jan 2021. We started at 5 in the morning and returned back to Kukke (base) by 8.45 pm. It was exhaustive, challenging our limits and believe me, while returning I repented on my decision of coming here for trek because i was so tired and all my body parts were singing different songs. But the satisfaction you will get on this trek in marvelous. This is beautiful and astonishing and marvelous trek. Words will fall short in describing its beauty. One should do it once to feel proud of oneself. Few tips: 1.Carry two bottles per head as water sources are not very frequent in the trail 2.prior trekking experience is advisable 3.Carry enough food. Only place you will get a good food is at Bhatramane, which is after 5 kms of hard trek from Kukke (Base) and apart from this place, you will not food anywhere on the entire trail 4. You have the option of staying in Bhatra mane, and most of the trekkers do that. See more..
  11. 4.5 Gopalaswami Betta (71 reviews)
    - The View.. The Incredible view.
    Mountains
    Gopalaswami Betta image
You get up here by by piling on to a wheezy state transport bus little realising what lies ahead. The next 30 minutes or so the bust travels only in one direction. Straight up . And very soon you are praying that that engine doesn't give up its wheezy grunt and send you plunging to the depths below.. But once you get there what a sight.. Three states and their densely wooded national parks spread out below you.. Bandipur in Karnataka, Madumalai in Tamil Nadu and Wayanad in Kerala.. And a wind that is ever present and refreshes you with its chilly embrace. The temple here dedicated to Lord Krishna is a must visit. But what you really need to get up here for is that view. SPECTACULAR... See more..

    Brahmagiri Hill image
We, a pack of 20 youngsters made an exceptional rain walk to this majestic peak last Sunday.Due to rain we were well equipped with rain coats and waterproof materials. Trek started from Forest Inspection Bungalow (IB),Thirunelli and after 3 KM walk into the evergreen terrain we reached department's Anti-Poaching Camp. Enroute we were warmly welcomed by battalions of leeches, but with the help of tobacco powder - Sesame oil paste we were able to overcome those menace in an effective way. From Anti-Poaching Camp we need to walk 3 KM more to the peak, en route we saw number of elephants, Sambar deers (Rusa unicolor) on the nearby mountains. The trekking path towards the peak was bit slippery due to rain. Panoramic view from the top of the hill was really heavenly. We experienced a heavy rainfall and wind there at the hilltop. Ettina Bhuja Peak (Shishila Gudda) image
An amazing trek for those who miss hard treks in Himalayas, it's a chance discovery that we could locate this hidden jewel. The approach is through a thick forest and climb is a bit slippery as I went when it's raining. As this is at a remote area, it's advisable to have own transport to reach the base. There is an ancient temple and local priest, who also runs a tea shop is quite helpful. One should have good hiking shoes and rain gear. Also advisable to carry a bottle of drinking water and repellent to save from leaches. There are signages all along to guide to the peak. Scintillating views of valley below are fantastic. One has to climb huge boulders in the last 100 mts. Entire area is merged is clouds and it's better to wait for sometime for weather to clear. As we went during weekdays there are no people around. A refreshing and reinvigorating experience. See more..

There is a temple of the hilltop name as Markandeya Temple. This place is have very refreshing view from the top. From top of the hill you have almost 360 degree view and view is refreshing. I went in Aug mid and it full green because of monsoon. If you are in Bangalore and you want to plan a day out with your friends or family nice place. On the way to Markandaya there are many places where you can sit and have food. We had food with us so it was kind of picnic. I would suggest people to visit this place between Aug-Oct because of refreshing green view with mountain around. In covid-19 time this is nice option around Bangalore. Less or almost no crowd here so you breath nice fresh air without wearing mask and back to Bangalore by evening. See more..
  22. 4.5 Doddahotrangappa Hill (6 reviews)

    Doddahotrangappa Hill image
This hill is located in the town of Holalkere (35 Kms from Chitradurga) on the way to Shimoga from Chitradurga. One has to take deviation towards Hosadurga road to reach this spot. We were accompanied by local friend & hence did not find it difficult to locate. One has to trek long distance to reach the top. View on the way to top was beautiful. The temple on the top was small with Lord Ranganathswamy being the diety. The name dodda hotte is derived from the big belly of the lord. All the trek was worth once you reach the top with breezy wind making it feel better in summer. This would be a difficult trek for family with kids. Carry lot of water & food as nothing would be available on the way or on top. It is better to visit during december See more..
  23. 4.5 Narayana Giri (2 reviews)

    Mountains
    Narayana Giri image
Lovely place for trekking and camping with beautiful views. It's a nice weekend getaway and is about 60+ kms from Bangalore. We went through the Bangalore-Mysore road and took a right turn before the Ramanagara bus stand (18 kms from there). This temple is believed to have existed few hundred years ago is located on a monolith rock. You have to take a right turn after the Jalamangala lake and a dirt road is being built till the place where the steps begin. A parking lot is also being built and it should be ready by end of Jan'21. It is a mud road now and please be careful if it has rained. There are 560 steps to the top of the hill, where this temple is located. The views from the top was wonderful, with cool breeze blowing - mornings and evenings are preferred visiting times. We were lucky to see few Egyptian Vultures there. Please carry your own food and water as there aren't any shops nearby. See more..

    - Nice Place with temple on the hill top

    Kanakagiri Hill image
First of all let me tell you it's a Jain tirth, from here one of our Acharya Shri went to salvation. Vihar (Samvasharan) of Bhagwan Mahaveer Swami took at this plac. It's a small village situated around 50 km from Mysore. It's a rock hill and on top of the hill there is a quite a old Jain temple which has Bhagvan Parshanath idol in standing aasan. The temple is now renovating and also some construction going on for some new temples and new idols. Jain community is developing it as big tirth shetra(holy place). View from the top is amazing, you can see quite far and distant mountains also. It's quite windy on the top and you will love it even if sun is there then also you won't feel that much heat due to wind. From Bangalore we took the Kanakpura road which is a 2 lane road and its in very good shape, after kanakpura also the rout that google showed us was not national highways but a state highways and were good and scenic at many places. The day we went it was a cloudy day and our onward journey was awesome due to the climate. We left early morning and found very less traffic through out the route. From Bangalore Kanakgiri is around 170 Km and it will take around 3 to 3.3 hrs to reach there. Over all if the climate is good once you reach there then its more enjoyable else you will feel the heat when you are at the bottom of the mountain. i can say we enjoyed the day trip. See more..
