Good training ground

It was my first-time hiking Gunung Lambak. Planned earlier with a group of friends to start at 730 am but only can arrive at 9 am. So, have to start on my own but since it was a weekend then need not to worry as there were a lot of people hiking up the trail at any time. You can always ask the friendly hikers to show you the right way. Going up was not as easy on the first segment to the sign board. From there the trail up started to climb but you just need to relax and go up slowly step by step and you will reach the peak in about 1 hour and half. You can go down the way you went up, but I took the other way going to the second peak and went down from there. The trail was good and at the peak there were a lot of monkeys. Overall, I would want to repeat Gunung Lambak and I think it's good for training ground for more higher places.

    Good morning walk
Last month l joined a group of friends to Kluang. It was my first time visiting Kluang, Johore at Malaysia. We went for a morning trek at Gunung Lambak on a Sunday morning at about 6am. Gunung Lambak or Mount Lambak is a small mountain that is 510m above sea level and is popular among locals and tourists. At the base of the mountain, there were ample parking lots for coaches and cars, and stalls selling food and snack for holiday makers and climbers. It was a friendly recreational and tourist place with toilets for the convenience and comfort of the hikers and visitors to change or wash up after the hike . A Water Theme park is also located at the foot of the mountain. Our group began the trek from the carpark at the foot of the mountain. My friend and l ended our trek at the middle of the mountain, where there was a big signboard. The rest of our group continued with their trek to the summit. Thereafter, my friend and l did a leisure walk down the mountain on concrete path and by the hanging bridge. Our walk down was lovely as we watched the natural flora and fauna in abundance and many small groups of people doing morning exercises. Nature was at its best with the greeneries and chirping birds and fresh air of the forests. We enjoyed our morning nature walk.

    Good small hill to climb
Gunung Lambak is a small mountain in Johor, Malaysia. Gunung means mountain in the Malay language It situated just outside of Kluang and I went there by driving. There is a little water park at the foot of the mountain called Gunung Lambak Eco Resort where there is a big carpark. It is almost impossible to be lost on this mountain as there is only a single path through. I will reccomend those visiting this mountain to climb using the path that is situated right outside of the resort (you will need to skirt around the circumference of the resort till you see some directional signs and fruit sellers) where the path up is steeper. After summitting, the gradient of the path downwards is gentler and therefore easier on the knees. The mountain is around 510 metre talls and a normal adult should summit the mountain between one to two hours. I carried my four year old in a child carrier while my seven year old tackled the mountain by himself which we took around 2.5hours. Do also pack along some light sandwiches for lunch. There are no toilet facilities along the route up, but there is one inside the resort for usage before you climb up. There are no permits required to climb this mountain nor any guide is required. As usual, all nature lover will bring down their own trash from the mountain and leave none behind.
