Chinese Heritage of Johor Bahru

The Chinese Heritage Museum is a fantastic museum detailing the history of Chinese settlement in Johor Bahru. The first two floors are dedicated to and have an amazing amount of detail about the different Chinese communities that settled and on their contribution. The top floor is a special exhibit on gambier, the crop that originally made Johor wealthy and first brought the Chinese over. A great museum for a very small entrance fee.

A Great Place to Learn about Johor's History
I would recommend to all those history lovers out there. I learn a lot about the heritage of Johor after visiting this museum. One of Johor Bahru founding father was Wong Ah Fook and I was curious to learn more about him. This museum had allowed me to get to know his history and the impact he had made in shaping Johor Bahru

JB history well documented
We walked to this Shophouse that was converted to a small Museum of the Chinese Heritage.It was located @ Jalan Ibrahim , a short walk from our hotel , the Citrus.Go SouthWest and ull find this museum between other shophouses.It was well maintained , clean ,pleasant atmosphere.Interesting place to learn about how the early Chinese settlers, their contributions for Johor Bahru , the history of British colonial and the Japanese war period.We can see artifacts of the early Chinese settlers, music instruments,photographs, documents ,etc.This 3 storey museum was worth to visit ,we had a good time in this museum.Enterance price is just RM 12 for 3 of us.On top of this museum you can have Chinese writing stamps,on the brochures provided near the enterance.
