Changbaishan waterfall system: Source of Three Rivers
Before you join the hordes on the raised wooden walkway for a closer view of the high mountain waterfall, you can “egg-plore” the scene at base level. Taste the “hot spring eggs”; wash your hands in the hand washing pool (42 °C); see the rocky ground pockmarked with numerous hot springs. One walkway takes you to a quaint bridge with great views of the main waterfall and stream. Some flavour of Korean culture can be gained here from the colourful outfits. Elsewhere you can follow the steps up to a picturesque lake and waterfalls. Here, you can drink from the Yu Jiang Spring, or more to the point, be photographed drinking from the spring’s water.

The gentle trek up along the hot spring stream to see the frozen water fall in the winter was a very pleasant experience. It must have been very majestic in the summer, i must come back to see one day. Very grand water fall. On the way down, you might have to slide down on certain sections as it is too slippery to walk down due to the slipper icy slope. Wear a slippery pair of trek pants and let your hair down, slide like a kid. You will love it!!
