Jeonju Korean Traditional Wine Museum, Jeollabuk-do, South Korea
3.5 (27 reviews) Spent Ranking #20 in Jeonju Speciality Museums
Good for a quick visit. Free, so why not?
A kind of random-seeming display of wine bottles. But check out the cute doll exhibits that illustrate the wine-making process (Step 1: Calm the feelings). Fun for a quick visit.

Wine may be a misnomer, but alcohol, yes!
Want to know how the local "ju"s are made? Want a hands on experience! I've been here several times and each time there are new discoveries! Not everything is detailed in (great) English, but there are plenty of visuals, hands on demos and fun curators. On one trip my friend and I were given special (tiny) samples of an 180 proof concoction that could run my car. I've also been invited to help make fermented rice wine. When in a low cash-spot just before visiting family in Austria for Christmas, this was one place that took foreign credit cards and sold beautifully boxed gift sets.

Small but Not Bad...
This is a little, hard to find place. It is just outside the main paid part of the Jeonju Hanok in the nearby restaurants and shops. There is not much to see, but if you're interested in the history of Korean alcohol, it might be worth it. If you can read Korean, it will be better. You go in and there is a tasting room, then through the next door are cases of bottles and mannequins showing how the process goes. All the explanations are in Korean, though. There is a nice little sitting area, and a small shop that sells local alcohols. If you're in or going to the Jeonju Hanok anyways and are a little interested, its not bad. I wouldn't recommend going just for this, though, as its underwhelming. Taken as part of the history in Jeonju, it's not bad though. And its free to go in and look around.
