Day trip from Jeju

A definite highlight for us. Do ensure that you keep a day planned for Udo Island on your itinerary as this is totally worth your time. Udo literally translates into a sleeping Cow as that's what the shape of this island looks like apparently. Rent a bike upon alighting from the ferry (electric bike at about 15k KRW pp) for the whole day. Its so much fun and effort to ride an electric bike is significantly low too. An important suggestion is to do the loop anti-clockwise as you'll be riding along the sea all along and also beat the traffic. The beaches are good to alight and chill at. Hiking up to the highest peak can give you a great view of the entire island. There are quite a few cafes dotted along the island and we enjoyed the views and ice creams (peanut and Hallabong flavours) at Jimmy's. Even the jet boat ride below Jimmy's is so much fun. The caves around the island are such a refreshing change and must visit if you can climb over the rocks.

    Udo sights and sound
A must-see attraction while in Jeju. Upon arriving on the island from the ferry, there are many options, from manual bikes to electric ones to cars. Price and usage time are also variables. I would recommend spending a day there and enjoying the sights, sounds, food, and breeze of the island. Peanut ice-cream from Jimmy's Natural Ice Cream is a must. Theirs is really the best.

    Lots of beaches
We took a taxi from our hotel in Jeju City, which took about an hour, to the Ferry Terminal. It was pretty easy to buy the ticket. Once we got to the island, it wasn't really clear what to do, so we followed everyone to a small building that was selling bus tour tickets. We didn't get the bus we wanted, though they both seem to just drive around the island and you can hop on and off. We found out later that we could have rented a little tricycle moped. We enjoyed ourselves. Worth the trip.
