Funäsdalsberget, Jamtland and Harjedalen, Sweden

4.0 (43 reviews) Spent Ranking #2 in Jamtland and Harjedalen Ski & Snowboard Areas

Pleasantly surprised us!

Countless are the times we have passed, either on our way to Ramundberget or another winter sports resort. Now it turned out that the amount of snow or the level of ambition to open several slopes before Christmas was low in the surrounding resorts, so then it had to be Funäsdalsberget. What a stroke of luck, more or less all slopes open, well pisted and entertaining in their undulating terrain.Definitely a place to build confidence for the ski season. Infa lift queues and the gondola feel like an excellent investment.Toppstugan offers coffee or lunch during the break, nothing completely memorable but an OK pit stop

    Magic outlook during summer sunset
My daughter and I went up to the mountain top (950m or so) which took us 40 minutes. The steep climb on a gravel service road was already rewarding, as we could see the half panorama to the East (beautiful lakes and seemingly endless untouched forests). But once we came up to the top, it was actually amazing and breathtaking! Don't miss it! 1,5 hours worth spent!

    My point of view
The ride up the mountain is quick and has a beautiful view. When you disembark, there's around 400 meters to the absolute top. Stunning view of the surroundings, you can even see Norway. If you didn't bring lunch there's a local Same hut that serves food of different kinds and the "top" cabin, beside the ski lift, serves waffles with cloud berries. Well worth the trip up
