Jackson is fortunate to have this attraction
Ella Sharp Park is integral to the community. It has the Ella Sharp Museum, The Peter Hurst Planetarium, softball fields, a driving range, the Round House pavilion, nature trails (although last year the DNR or the city dumped dozens of dead deer on the main trail and they stunk and attracted scavengers, wild dogs and coyotes). My favorite annual activity is Shakespeare in the Park, but there are events on a weekly basis such as car shows, art exhibits and concerts.

Nice park close to downtown
This is a large park on the outskirts of Jackson. (Actually may be within the city limits). Large open spaces that accommodates multiple sports (e.g. softball, soccer, mini golf, 18 hole golf, golf driving range, golf lessons, tennis, kite flying). The golf course is one of the best public courses in this area. There is also a nice museum, cafe, and planetarium on the grounds.

Clean, playground, walking
This park is very clean! Great place to walk or bring your dog. They also have a kids playground which is well maintained. Only negative is no bathrooms. Baseball areas are well kept and nice field to play soccer.
