Exceptional stone facade

This is one example of extraordinary architecture in old Porec. All one can see is the stone facade dating from the early 18th century. It’s style is in complete contrast with the ordinary shop that now lurks within it. Wonderful!

    An impressive baroque building.
Sincic Palace is a spacious two-story baroque building built by Antonio Sincic in the eighteenth century. It is the most significant Baroque palace in Porec and stands out from the rest. The facade of this building is enriched by profiled windows and portal frames with an elegant balcony in its centre. The second floor balcony stands out on the central part of the facade. Antonio Sincic belonged to one of the most wealthy and influential families in Porec. The building remained in the hands of the family up until the end of World War II, when it was abandoned by the last remaining descendant, Enea de Sincic. Today, Sincic Palace is the site of the Heritage Museum, which houses a collection of Roman archaeological relics in the ground floor Lapidarian, as well as Baroque paintings and a wealth of documents in its historical library. We were unable to go inside as the museum is currently closed for essential restoration work and the new permanent exhibition is being put in place.

    You can easily miss
Due to the shops in the building that will distract you from viewing the wonderful old house with lots of decorations. Thus, views up above the shops!
