Beautiful bays on a day trip from Pula

I would definitely recommend Kamenjak as a day trip from Pula, the bus only took around 30 minutes and was quite reliable, then it's a walk from the bus stop and free entry. Getting round the park on foot is quite long, a car would be much easier! I wanted to see as much as possible so arrived around 8am and barely saw anyone on the first few beaches. By around 10am it was getting a lot busier. I walked around the majority of the park, leaving around 4pm but this was a huge amount of walking in one day. The park itself is very beautiful, the dust makes it look very ethereal and I didn't have an issue with cars driving fast like others mentioned. I did visit the safari bar which is cash only, and nice to get a fresh lemonade and take in the views. The bays/beaches I would recommend in particular are Radovica and Plovanije. All of that side is particularly stunning in my opinion!

    Breath-taking waters
During our stay in Medulin we drove daily to Premantura, left our car before the gate at the large free parking lot and walked to Polje, our favorite beach. The park is wonderful, accessible by car for a daily fee of 80 kunas, or free of charge by walk, has a multitude of beaches and trails and even a farm and some bars. If you go to Medulin or Premantura you definitely need to check out Kamenjak, you won't find clearer waters anywhere else in Istria. The only con is the insane amount of dust cars raise while they drive faster than they're supposed to, otherwise this park is perfect.

    Worth visiting
We visited kamenjak on 2 successive days. 1st trip was by rented motor boat from Verudela marina. About £100 for 9am to 7pm, 5hp. We explored the sea caves just north of Stoja at Muzil first. A good cave first then a canyon/arch a bit further North. Also has underwater arch you can dive through at maybe 15' deep. Then motored South to Kamenjak. Stopped at a couple of nice bays with good snorkeling. Eventually reached the Jungle cafe area with its caves. This was busy but good. We vowed to come back next day by car. We drove into the National park next day. Very busy but big enough to absorb the numbers. About £8 day entry to the park includes parking. Drove down and parked at Jungle cafe. The best caves are a little south of the first ones with the jump. The big boats moor off the little Rock island by the best cave. You can swim in to an amazing series of caves. Never been anywhere like it. Good snorkeling too. I can recommend either way of visiting Kamenjak. Hard to fit in Stoja and Kamenjak using the boat but possible if you head South and don't get too distracted by other nice places.
