4.0 (6 reviews) Spent 1-2 hours Ranking #9 in Gharb Speciality Museums • History Museums

A visit worth making.

This museum revolves around the life and death of Karmni Grima. The museum is full of artifacts related to her life and the family's way of living. The presentations are well organised; well explained through the audio guide and the whole museum is very tidy. The lady at the reception was exceptionally nice. There is access for persons requiring the use of wheelchairs and parking should be available along the road.

    Place of calm and serenity
We visited the Karmni Grima museum earlier today. We tried visiting last year after visiting Ta Pinu. Sadly we always seemed to get there when it was closed. Today we made it and so pleased we managed to get to see this lovely little museum. It is closed on Mondays. The museum is well worth a visit as it describes the life and work of Karmni Grima, a wonderful pious woman. The museum is her actual house that she was born, lived and died 83 years later. It is an excellent example of a traditional Gozitan farm house. The museum reflects the life Karmni lived. There is an audio guide as you tour the house. The cost per entry is 3€ per adult, a donation is welcome for the audio tours. Helen who works in the museum is passionate and knowledgeable about the history of Karmni. The house oozes charm and serenity. The toilets are impeccable as is the whole museum. The museum has got a lift for those who cannot manage the stairs. There is a splendid view of Ta Pinu from what was Karmni's bedroom, sadly she never got to see it as it was finally built and consecrated at least 10years after she died. The remains of the original chapel is still visible and incorporated into Ta Pinu. Hope you enjoy both visits as much as we did
