CLASSIC

We were in Moline for three days and with Covid we opted for doing as many outdoor activities as possible. In a Cemetery like this you can get a feel for this history of the town.

    found John Deere's grave
I had visited the Riverside Cemetery one year ago. At that time I could not find the gravesite of the famous blacksmith (understatement) and influential citizen of Moline, John Deere. This time I had prepared myself better and found that it was close to the area where I had been searching a year ago. And indeed the gravesite is "On Prospect at Concourse, North East corner of Cemetery overlooking the Mississippi River".

Nice View But I Wouldn't be Caught Dead Here
I can't believe that Trip Advisor wants ratings on a cemetery. That being said, this is a beautiful, well maintained cemetery with decades of interesting tombstones. I even believe that Charles Dickens' disowned son is buried here. If you're into cemeteries this might be interesting. As for me, I plan to make an ash of myself upon death as I have in life. So, I won't be caught dead here.
