Kayak Starved Rock guided tour
The tour guides are very friendly. We did the 9 AM starved rock guided tour for about 2 and a half hours. We saw different kinds of wild life in their natural habitat. I would definitely recommend doing this tour before renting and kayaking on your own. Some parts of the river are shallow so you have to be careful so you don't get stuck.

Easy Going, Easy Paddling, Nice Scenery
Really nice and easy going setup. It's very bare-bones at the put-in at Starved Rock. The kids working it were nice and helpful, if not a little bored. We rented Kayaks so I can't review guided trips. We paddled up river to the Starved Bluffs. We glided under the outcroppings and took a shower in a small waterfall. Then we crossed the river to a sandbar and stopped for lunch. In among the sandbar/islands there were inlets with wildlife. We saw herons, a bald eagle, turtles and jumping fish. We found cool snail shells and lots of deer tracks. It was an easy relaxing paddle. Afterward we went into Starved Rock State Park, which is NOT great. There are an unfortunate amount of obnoxious visitors. There were kids in one of the canyons playing loud music while people were trying to enjoy the sounds of the waterfall we asked them to turn it down and you would have thought we asked them to give us the keys to their car. Also there is a ton of graffiti on the walls of the canyons. What kind of people would do that? We would return to Kayak Morris but skip Starved Rock State Park.

Great Experience
We booked a dual kayak guided tour on the 4th of July. We were part of a very large group with Ricky as our tour guide. The check-in process was smooth and pleasant, the equipment was brand new / in great shape and the experience was outstanding. We saw bald eagles, deer wading in lagoon water, lots of cranes / herons, and got to paddle right up next to bluffs. Ricky was knowledgeable, warm and friendly and kept everyone organized and safe on the water. All in all a great experience and a good value - it was great to see the area from the river after having hiked it from the bluff trail and river trail the day before. Tip would be to take the early tour especially in the summer.
