This was such an enjoyable place to visit! The store itself is decorated in unique ways (a hidden slide for one thing), and the booths were well designed. A friend of ours brought my wife and I to this establishment. Obviously, to impress us and, they did! We sat beneath an awning at the front of the place that was shaded enough to escape the afternoon sun. The server took our order and sampled our drinks. Short of twenty minutes, the food came. First, was a cutting board of various creations like candied bacon, bleu cheese crumbles, hot pepper jelly and dark chocolate toffee, to only name a few. Such a fun day with my two boys. We played two games of bowling and a game of laser tag and we had so much fun. It's affordable and the food is really good. The tour guides are very friendly. We did the 9 AM starved rock guided tour for about 2 and a half hours. We saw different kinds of wild life in their natural habitat. I would definitely recommend doing this tour before renting and kayaking on your own. Some parts of the river are shallow so you have to be careful so you don't get stuck. See more..

This place is a hidden gem. The food was very good and the beers were great! Nice selection. I love it that the music in the bar was not too loud. You could sit in there and have dinner and drinks and not be drowned out! There is a separate dining room and bar area if you are more inclined to eat in there. I hear the steaks are very good. This is a nice family state park convient and nice playground. My children use to enjoy fishing and ice skating in the ponds. Sadly the viaduct broke 4 years ago so no water in the ponds or parts of the canal. Can't walk to downtown from the I and m canal anymore which is sad. Wish they would fix it.
