Peace in the city

Donghu National Park is a beautifully serene retreat from the fanatic pace of the city. I was there in January, so it wasn't tourist season, but the Park is huge and I imagine would be a great place to get away from all the people and traffic in the city. It's well kept up and has many picturesque monuments. You can take stairs or the paved roads to get around the area. It also has taxis to get you up and down the mountain.

    Donghu/East Lake (with Mo Shan/Mo Mountain), an under-rated gorgeous Chinese lake
    The East Lake is huge - besides the National Park, also try: - Take a boat (those operated privately and paddled by a local farmer) gliding around the lake (100-200 RMB for a 45 min ride); - Take a visit to Wuhan University, "the most beautiful campus in China", (if it's in the sakura/cherry blossom season, expect literally a million other visitors) - Try a local "fish-ball soup" restaurant around the lake; there are probably many of them around the Hubei Provincial Museum region and outside the park, if not ask a local or even the taxi driver.     Absolutely amazing place in Wuhan
    We can call it amazing, awesome and impressive place in such a big city as Wuhan. The entrance is free, although it`s not allowed to enter with car or bike. But it`s a great opportunity to walk around East Lake, to discover such places as Monkey Mountain, Plum Hill, Crape Myrtle Garden, Taiyu Bridge, Double Ropeway and other scenic areas. The place is suitable as for individuals, as for couples and groups (no matter of size). Prepare your food and beverage, because on your way it could be difficult to find any snacks. If you really fan of nature, this is right match for you!
