Sea Kayaking Glaciers, Northern Lights, Amazing Company
I met up with Patrick, of Turnagain Kayak and Adventure Center, and a couple of other friends for a three day sea kayaking trip outside of Whittier, Alaska. It was the best sea kayaking I've ever experienced. We heard a whale just off of the shore at night, had a lucky Northern lights show from the beach of an island where we camped, and sea kayaked out towards Blackstone Glacier on Blackstone Bay with seals and otters. Top notch kayak instructors with a lot of experience and concern for safety, and lots of local knowledge made our kayaking trip super special, can't wait to get back for more Alaskan adventures! If you're looking for an epic Alaskan Adventure, and want to learn how to have mad kayaking skills so that you can go out on your own as well, I highly recommend Turnagain Kayak Adventure Center for any kayaking trips or courses!

Fund and adventure kayaking in Alaska
I am a long-time Alaskan, and every year I continue to take advantage of various trips and training opportunities provide by the Turnagain Kayak Adventure Center. Last year I attended the annual Kayaker's Cove training week conducted in Resurrection Bay. What an amazing time paddling along the phenomenal natural coastline among an abundance of sea birds, whales, sea lions, sea otters and other wildlife. We visited Bear Glacier and practiced some kayak surfing on the wave trains. I was also able to get some instruction using paddle boards. In the fall I attended a 4 day swiftwater rescue and whitewater kayaking training class on the local Sixmile River. What a fun and exciting way to spend some time. I highly recommend the Center and staff. Great folks, located in a really fun community surrounded by so many great opportunities for outdoor adventures. From incredible sea kayaking and white water boating to amazing hiking, biking and unbelievable wildlife viewing. Should be missed.

Alaska is amazingly different from the water! Fractured sea walls, mountain backdrops, wildlife swimming next to you....
Never too late! I am not one of those outdoor crazies that Alaska is known for, just a moderately active older adventurer. Turnagain Kayak Adventure Center opened new worlds for me! They set you up with all you need (quality stuff, not battered junk) and guide you according to your comfort level. Well... not necessarily always your most comfortable level.... they have nudged me into things I never thought of doing and I am so glad! Great instructors, highly skilled but also so much fun! They have it all. Sea and river kayaks, pack-rafts, SUPs, with training for all of it. I have done single and multi-day training with them and never get enough. Coffee and Hope after your adventure. Heaven!
