Just went on a 2 hour boat tour of the Homosassa River on the Nature Coast of Florida with 18 friends. $20 per person. The Captain was so helpful with our mobility impaired friend, gently helping her on/off the dock and boat. The narrator had many stories and nature facts throughout the cruise. The ride is slow and easy, just perfect for our "retirement age" ladies group. Between narration they played party music to sing and dance to. Afterwards we had dinner at the Seagrass Waterfront Resort, at the marina where we docked. Because we went on the cruise, we had a special discounted menu including "adult beverage" for $19 each. Food was great! The cruise runs Wednesdays through Sundays. You can rent the whole boat or just join a smaller group. This is perfect for families, couples, and friends who want a pleasant afternoon on the water but still able to hear yourselves talk. The crew and facilities (there's a real bathroom on board) were top-notch! See more..

Capt Carey took us out fishing for the day. Nice boat, good equipment. He was very helpful and congenial. We got bait and fished in the gulf where we caught some trout. We then went inshore for redfish which we also caught. It was slow fishing for awhile and he was concerned for us not catching anything. He even radioed his competitors to check for the best spots. He did everything he could to make sure we had a good day. See more..

We were very excited to swim with manatees, but the customer service we received when scheduling already made us nervous about our trip. There was no signage with"Reel River Tours" on it. We arrived and were told they only have 4 wetsuits to rent, so we had to swim without them when it was only 54 degrees out! Our captain was very unprofessional. She spent most of the tour on her phone or talking about the little money she makes. Swimming with the manatees was an awesome experience! I would just suggest going with another company for it.
