Beautiful when the Lotus Flowers are in full bloom

Awesome, peaceful park, and stunning when the masses of huge lotus flowers are in bloom. Highly recommend at the right time of year. I first visited in the first half of 2002 and again in Sept 2010. Fantastic both times.

    Winter Trip
I work in Baoding so naturally take the time to see as many sights in town as I can whilst working this side of the world, I must say I’ve been to the lotus gardens twice. The fist time was in winter, the water is frozen over and it’s especially cold compared to just outside on the streets due to the amount of water but it holds such a beauty to it, in winter naturally there are no flowers blooming but it’s still a stunning sight to go and see during this period if you find yourself here in winter however the real winner is during spring and summer the lotus flowers bloom and it’s a beautiful sight to see, the entrance fee is fairly priced as it’s a local attraction and of course Baoding isn’t a first tier town so everything is a lot cheaper. If you find yourself here during whichever period or time of year it is I highly recommend popping in to have a look at the buildings the architecture and the ponds and flowers depending on season!

    Peaceful Minimalism
Even though it was winter, the Lotus Garden is peaceful and beautiful. We were the only tourists in the park, which is a nice change from the crowded attractions during the summer. The architecture is similar to many other historical sites in China, particularly the Summer Palace in Beijing, but because the Lotus Garden is smaller, I felt like I could enjoy seeing each part without rushing. Most of the indoor exhibitions were closed; I'm not sure if that was because it was the off-season. But even without seeing inside most of the building, there is plenty of natural beauty to enjoy outside. Like most Chinese attractions, there are a lot of steps, mostly uneven, and few guardrails. So this would not be stroller-friendly. Overall, a very peaceful calm in the middle of Baoding.
