Old house worth a look. Lots of old paper and manuscripts. I enjoyed it and the resident guide knows his stuff

Not Earth Shattering But Worth a Stop
The Harar Museum is set in a beautiful old home where the last Emperor, Haile Selasie, spent a good part of his childhood. The inner nerd in my found that fact part of the draw of the place. The museum had about four rooms with some interesting old artifacts such as old coins - some of which dated from the ancient Arab trade route time...plus some really tiny coins from before Harar was part of Ethiopia/Abyssinia. There were some old swords and Qurans. There's also a small art exhibit which showed some of the cultural side of Harar and made the rest of our visit even more interesting. Even if you make your stop brief, it's worth a stop.
