A small, sweet museum

Archaeological Museum of Excavations at Tel Dor. A wealth of artifacts from different periods. I love the small glass collection from ancient times. The building itself is of historical importance from the beginning of the period of the Jewish settlement in the Land of Israel. And after the visit go to the sea near the kibbutz

Interesting collection of local archaeological finds
Off the beaten path, this small museum is housed in a restored building originally used to manufacture glass bottles for Baron Rothschild's winery. The museum's collection includes artifacts excavated in nearby Tel Dor and from underwater archaeological expeditions off the coast. One section also covers the history of the building and glass making (both ancient and 19th century). A visit here is easily combined with a visit to the beach at Nahsholim or nearby Dor HaBonim Nature Reserve. Nahal Mearot Nature Preserve and the Atlit Detention Camp are 2 more nearby areas to explore.

    Fascinating peek into the past
Wonderful restored building from the 19th century, fascinating archeological finds from Dor's past and interesting exhibit of modern day artists in glass and ceramics. Explanations about underwater excavations of the shipwrecks found in the Dor harbour. Very interesting finds from Dor's ancient church. Wonderful collection of ancient figurines, jewelry, and even ancient Roman lamps with erotic scenes. Short film on the history of the building as a failed glass factory during the era of Baron Rothchild, (available in several languages.) A one hour visit should suffice. Bathrooms in an outdoor shed.
