Great vintage planes at the Homer B. Wilson Museum at the Guntersville Municipal Airport
I had been given a ride in one of the vintage Stearman planes from the museum for my birthday, but this was the first time I had been inside the museum itself. There are military and non-military planes from the 1920s through the 1940s. They have all been beautifully restored. You can book rides in at least three of the planes. Bill, our tour guide (and the pilot on the rides) is quite knowledgeable about the planes and will answer all questions (and believe me I asked quite a few). The airport is easy to find on US Highway 431 North.

LOVE OF AVIATION
If you are like us, and enjoy the history of old time vintage aircraft, you will certainly enjoy this little museum. The Guntersville EAA have large participation with once a month drive to or fly-in pancake breakfast with the local boy scouts help.

Pretty neat
This is a free (donations accepted) collection of planes--restored and still flyable. Very friendly folks there will spend as much time as you like sharing the history of each one. You can also arrange for a flight over the lake if you are feeling adventurous.
