Sidonggou Waterfall, Guizhou, China

Marvellous waterfalls in a picturesque environment

Sidonggou means "Four Areas of Waterfalls" ie four cascaded waterfalls. For ease of walking our tour group dropped off between the 2nd and 3rd waterfalls and started to walk up to the 3rd, thence to the 4th (at the highest level). From the 4th waterfall we walked back down to the 1st, passing the 3rd and the 2nd on the way. It was an absorbing experience. The mountain path was not too difficult to handle. The whole mountain trip took 3-4 hours of average walking. The 2nd waterfall was a small one and the least impressive but the other three were stunning. Took many pictures of the waterfalls and the surrounds. I shall cover the scenic areas separately under "Sidonggou Scenic Resort".

    Wonderful, peaceful bamboo-covered valley walk
A fabulous walk in the peace and quiet of a bamboo covered valley, punctuated by 4 beautiful waterfalls. It takes about 3 hours to walk at a leisurely pace around the route. Terrain is mostly flat with a stone path all the way. There are a few little restaurants half-way round, but a highlight for us was picnicking behind the "Water Curtain", the first falls. Minibuses leave every few minutes from KeYun Zhan bus station on RenMinXi Lu in Chishui. It costs Y7 and its easy to pick up a return bus. Entry to the park cost us Y15 a piece, though it may be more expensive in the peak season.
