    Crystal clear beach waters
During my visit to Beihai Silver Beach, the breeze off the ocean was light, the sunshine bright, and few people were around. The 26-kilometre waterfront beach is very crowded in the summer months but much fewer come in the winter months. The beach sand was fairly brown during my visit. I was told that under the summer sunlight the quartz sand takes on a silver colour. At about the mid-point of Silver Beach, there is a pier called the Immortal Bridge. Its name relates to a legend of a Japanese monk. Due to the relatively warm waters, swimmers are usually in the waters from April through November. Even on my January visit, there were a few sunbathers on the beach.

    A nice little beach
Alright, Beihai Silver Beach is not the most awesome beach you'll ever go to. But it is a nice beach, with nice sand, and hot water! Good enough for me I'd say. The problem is that chinese people do not have this culture of sun bathing or even swimming in the sea, so people are often just standing up on the beach, which doesn't look very relaxing. But that depends on what time you go there. Other than that, you can also enjoy fresh juice and local seafood. A bit pricy, it's still a touristic place.
