Peach Gardens
Kind of relaxing if you can ignore the constant beeping of car horns all around and the persistant motorbike taxi drivers everywhere. The lake its self is picturesque but surrounded by commerce; hotels and other buildings. After travelling for 45 minutes from Foshan we expected something a bit more secluded. Worth a visit in Spring Festival when the peach blossoms are in full bloom. There is a temple which closes an hour before the park at 5pm; we were dissappointed that it was closing as we arrived after along trek up the hill preceeded by much asking of where it was exactly, as there didnt seem to be any signposts.

Lunch, dinner, roses? Traffic Chaos, just works.
Waldo was asked to cut roses for the missus, yes singing for his supper. Large rose garden, pick your own, it's every man, woman, child, chicken and duck for themselves. Thorns for free :) Large Red and Apricot long stem 2¥ each, scissors supplied. Onto lunch. What a feast. I think 8 dishes??? Poached chicken so tender and juicy. Pork ribs twice fried. Snake beans with white bait in XO sauce. Steamed cod a New Years Special. Black fungi mushrooms with snow pea and spring onion absolute delicious with wasabi and soy. Pigeon BBQ and Duck BBQ all wonderfully presented. Flavours are spectacular. Westerners ask for picture menu. Some staff speak English? Australian Penfolds can be purchased by bottle selection is limited to a couple of BIN vintages. Tsingtao is my pick for beer ask for it ice cold. Great staff just try to please all night. Topping up, service etc all excellent. Recently undergone a complete refurbishment it is clean and fresh. Waldo may just sing for his supper next time.

Golf? Cycling? Eating? Relaxing?
North of Foshan this is a vast community. a gated community with a resort within. Peach Garden is just a small part of a wider community. Golf at the Peach Garden Country Club or a fabulous assault on the tooth maybe. YES have a BBQ down by the small lake if you wish...I had a BBQ with 200 people on a sweltering 35C day and the Monkey was a lovely little chap. I'm sure its a private BBQ area. Above a vast water garden is a restaurant with some of Chinas best Cantonese Chefs a hidden gem of Foshan. If you have a couple of days this area North of Foshan is a wonderful area to explore. You can see it on Google Earth. Follow main Rd Nth out of Foshan to find the Golf Links. Waldoeview
