Pleasant but crowded
Having lived in Zhanjiang for many years I have often vsited this park and found it to be generally clean and pleasant, but like most places in China very crowded, especially at weekends.

Relic of the French colony in China
I visited Zhianjiang especially to find the remains of Guangzhouwan, the old French colony in China that was supposed to match Hong Kong and Macau. However, there is no information in Zhanjiang about the colony (at least not in English that I could find) and even the concierge at the Crown Plaza had never heard of any French colonial buildings in Zhanjiang. So, I made my way to the Cunjin Bridge, which was supposed to mark the border between Guangzhouwan and China. The bridge looked nice enough I suppose but I couldn't help thinking there was probably a cool French colonial building or two just around a corner.
